When looking for the perfect window shutters you’ll be faced with a range of products for every type of window and property style. We’re here to guide you through the options to help you find the best shutters for your home.

Full Height

If you’re interested in finding an alternative to curtains, then full height shutters might be your best option. Covering the entire window, they offer the ultimate in privacy and suit almost every room. Living rooms overlooking busy streets are especially good candidates for full height shutters, giving the homeowner the benefits of blocking out light and noise from the road, as well as offering privacy from overlooking buildings and passers-by.

You might also consider using them for patio doors as a neater solution to curtains that can get in the way. Full height shutters also deliver insulation from the cold when the slats are panels are closed, making them ideal for large window areas.

Smaller windows and rooms can benefit from full height shutters too - try a style with narrow slats to make the area feel large and more uniform.

This style really comes into their own in Victorian homes with bay windows. Not only do they complement the other architectural features found in older properties, such as panelling and traditional fireplaces, but they also offer a fantastic alternative when curtains don’t quite fit the bill. Whereas curtains may cut off a bay window making the room feel small, shutters are custom fit, making the room feel larger and giving you the option of using the extra space in front of the window for a reading nook or window seat.

Café Style

The perfect balance - café style shutters provide privacy whilst also letting light in. They cover the lower portion of the window, leaving the top clear for sunlight to stream into the room.

These designs work well in kitchens and bathrooms, where natural light is desired but privacy needed. Café Style shutters are also available in our Hollywood design, created with a waterproof finish for bathrooms and wet, damp areas.

Café Style shutters provide perfect privacy for your home, making them ideal for houses on busy terraced streets whilst offering cute, country appeal for rural homes. Because they only cover half the window they could work out to be the most affordable option.

Tier on Tier

Perhaps the best of both worlds - tier on tier shutters deliver optimum flexibility. These designs offer you total control of the lower and upper tiers separately, allowing both the option of Full Height shutters and Café Style.

Tier on Tier look smart all year round, but they really come into their own in summer. Ideal for sunny, south-facing rooms, they offer flexibility as the sun crosses the sky. Often used in living rooms or the home office where the lower section can remain closed preventing screen glare, whilst still letting light in the room.

If you have traditional Georgian or Edwardian sash windows Tier on Tier are a strong option - they offer a classic look, whilst providing defence against heat loss and noise for your single glazed windows.

Shaped

Our shutters don’t just come in traditional shapes; bespoke designs can be built to perfectly fit in your home.

If your contemporary home has uniquely shaped windows, shutters can make a real statement. Loft conversions often present us with unusually shaped windows, so bespoke designs can be a great option here too. Specially designed shapes and unique mouldings can be tailored to fit porthole, curved, half-circle and arched windows, and many more.

Try our Phoenix Shutters for your unusual shaped shutters - the natural timber feel compliments untraditional window styles with its characterful colour, plus it’s eco-friendly too.

Coloured

White shutters are the most popular style; however, our shutters are available in a range of colours. Whether you are after a striking statement or something that subtly compliments a room there are colour options for you.

White shutters often work best in minimalist or smaller rooms - they optimise light and blend into the room creating the illusion of more space. However, if you want to try something different then the dining room is a great space to have fun with colour. If the room is mostly used in the evenings try a deeper hue to set the tone for the space. Our Carolina range comes in any colour you can imagine, offering endless possibilities.

Our window shutters are a versatile choice for any home. Whether you need noise reduction, a full blackout, privacy from the street or a way to embrace the daylight and view, there’s a shutter-style for you.
